Friends, associates and other ne’er-do-wells, firstly allow me to apologise for my unannounced hiatus. Your thirst for hard-boiled takes on hard-boiled anime brought me back. I’m here to tell you why THIS FUCKING SHOW.
First blood is on your hands something, something C³ (not the other, shit C³), you’ve won the first impression war. ‘But not all the first impressions are out yet!’ you cry. I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF THIS M60. (more…)
I’m never going look at this show in the same way again.
It’s over. It’s been a ride. I’d peg it on level with a bus ride. There’s better rides out there. It wasn’t a good episode let alone a good ending. (more…)
It’s rather depressing that the token beach episode has been the break OreShura’s needed to move things forwards. It’s about as typical of a beach episode as you can get: melons, swimsuits, sandcastles and swimsuits with melons. Despite this, its efforts on characterising Masuzu, something it needed to do yonks ago, help redeem itself after stagnation for much of the series. (more…)
A bit later than usual which definitely wasn’t due Girls Und Panzer’s glorious return inspiring me to play World Of Tanks excessively. Actually it was. Anyway, the other reason it was late is because this was a dull episode. I tend to have a habit of listing my hopes rather than actual expectations and this episode even disappointed the latter… (more…)
So is the gripping story line going to be enhanced this episode? Nope, it’s chosen its route: harem comedy. So what first world problems are we presented with this week?
I’m increasingly in two minds about OreShura; this was a decent episode yet the end part proves it’s not what it could be. Ai has now hogged the stage for three goddamn episodes yet Himeka is mostly relegated to the background. Hopefully it’s wrapped things up with Ai already because the 3 minutes in which Masuzu actually got to appear for were brilliant. Like always.
Currently the highest rated non-sequel of the season on MAL, only shortly followed by Mondaiji, Kotoura-san has a lot of shortcomings, but damn is it loveable. A tragic story of a girl infused not only with power of telepathy, but also moé. Admittedly, the latter is the large part of the charm. Kotoura-san uses polarization to create something rather different and although heavy-handed, the result is quite beautiful. (more…)
It’s often jested that in shows like K-On! all they do is sit around and drink tea and eat cake. GJ-Bu makes K-On! look like seem like a rocker’s documentary. The name of the club is Good Job. If that didn’t imply they have no real purpose, I don’t know what would. Okay, I lied. The cake is a pretty big giveaway. (more…)
There’s tsundere and then there’s just dere. She’s all over Eita, but she’s just to obstinate to admit it. It’s not much even a dynamic change of ratio. She comes in at 3:7, then within a minute becomes a 1:9 Tsuntsun:Deredere Alas, pride… (more…)
Take a seat. What are you having?
I won't claim my opinions are truth. Just that they're right. Here you'll find an offering of quality opinions. Compliance is non-mandatory.
I mostly write about currently or recently aired anime. I'll probably throw out a fair bit of jargon but I consider my writing style analytical so it sort of needs to be.

If you're just here for the magnificent screencaps, that's cool too but I'd appreciate it if you gave the article a read.
Thanks, I'll put your bill on the tab.
